Attractions for Kids

 

Singapore is known for being one of the best destinations in Asia for travelling with children. As well as an abundance of attractions and activities to keep younger members of the family happy, there is also a good infrastructure and a wide variety of places where you can eat as a family with no worries at all. It is a clean and safe country.

If you’re looking for some fab things to do with the kids in Singapore, here are a few suggestions to get you started:

Singapore Night Safari

Ideal for children of all ages, and lots of fun for adults too, the Singapore Night Safari offers a wonderful chance for people to see animals that are usually inactive during the day. You can see numerous different nocturnal creatures in various different zones – including the jungle, rainforests, and savannah. Riding the tram through the safari and seeing the animals roaming freely is sure t be a great experience for the whole family!

Jurong Bird Park

Another great place for kids who love creatures is the Jurong Bird Park. Hundreds of different types of bird fly around different aviaries in the enormous park. Some particular favourites often include the African Waterfall aviary and the African Wetlands, the Southeast Asian Aviary, and the Bird Discovery Centre. It is educational and informative as well as being lots of fun.

You could combine a visit with the nearby fishing port too, for something a little different.

Universal Studios Singapore

There are excellent rides galore, with those suitable for dare-devils and thrill-seekers, as well as tamer rides for the smaller kids. There are shows and displays too, and it is a great way for the entire family to explore the magical world of movies, see how films are made, enjoy shrieks, laughter, and squeals, and meet their favourite characters. It is located on Sentosa Island.

Boat Ride Along the River

Hop on a boat and drift along the river, seeing the different faces of Singapore unfold around every corner. It’s a brilliant way to get a different perspective of the city, and your children can enjoy seeing old and new Singapore as they travel along the water.

KidsSTOP

This modern and state-of-the-art science centre was created especially for children below the age of 8. There are heaps of great displays and exhibitions, as well as loads of hands-on interactive experiences. Educational and fun, it allows kids to learn more about the world all around them and how things work. There is a fantastic area where your children can play act with other kids, taking on various different roles in the mini world.

Beaches

Spend a few hours letting your children run, play, and swim on some of Singapore’s sandy beaches. The easiest beaches to get to are probably those on Sentosa Island, but you could also consider taking them on a short boat ride to some other nearby islands.

Gardens by the Bay

The large Gardens by the Bay is a top spot for kids who like nature. It is also a big hit with adults too.  You can see many different types of plants and flowers, as well as a lovely lake and the amazing Supertree Grove. The futuristic super trees are particularly impressive in the evening when they are illuminated in all their splendour. They are sure to catch the eye of your kids! There is a special play area for children with an assortment of play equipment, water features, and lots of space to run around and burn off some excess energy.

There are several museums that are interesting for children, including the Children Little Museum that will take you all on a journey from the past through to the present, Singapore Discovery Centre, and the Science Centre. Sentosa Island has many child-friendly attractions, including Fantasy Land, Underwater Land, the luge, and the Port of Lost Wonder. Singapore Zoo lets kids see loads of different animals, Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam can be a fascinating riot of sights, sounds, and smells, Snow City offers something quite unusual for SE Asia, and children can soak up the great views from the Singapore Flyer.
