Are you looking for something fun and energetic to do in Singapore? Whether you want a giggle with your friends, are looking for somewhere to take the kids for a few hours, or want to bond with your significant other over plenty of laughs, what about spending a few hours ice skating? It’s definitely not usually the first thing that would spring to mind in a tropical country such as Singapore!
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a skating pro or a complete novice, Singapore’s cool ice rinks offer something for everyone, regardless of experience or ability level. Locals and visitors alike can enjoy gliding around the ice and trying to impress others!
If you fancy a fun-filled day on the ice, here’s where you can have a go at ice skating in Singapore:
Kallang Ice World
Kallang Ice World is located within Leisure Park Kallang, one of the best places on the eastern side of Singapore for loads of leisure options and fun! The ice rink uses real ice, and you can either skate around in your own sweet time or sign up for some classes to help you to master the ice. There are also diverse competitions and events held here too, so it’s a good place to just watch some action on the ice if you don’t want to risk a wobble yourself. There is a big seating area for spectators. Kallang Ice World offers professional-standard skating for all, built to competition standard and with a high-quality ice surface. For large groups of dedicated skating enthusiasts, it is also possible to book the entire ice rink for a private function if you so choose. It is open from 10 am until late (10 pm / midnight) on most days of the week.
The Rink at JCube
The Rink at JCube is Singapore’s only Olympic-sized ice rink. Like Kallang Ice World, it also uses real ice. Open each day of the week, there are classes, events, and public free-style skating sessions. Classes are available for kids and adults, newbies and pros, and you can learn how to figure skate, speed skate, play ice hockey, and more. There are skating aids, in cool animal shapes, for kids, as well as fun Saturday sessions of bumper cars on the ice and weekend ice skating discos. There certainly is something for everyone at The Rink at JCube! If you just want to watch, you’ll be pleased to know that there is a large seating area. You could also grab a bite to eat or a drink in the restaurant. Directly overlooking the ice rink, it’s a great place to chill out and people watch!
Marina Bay Sands Skating Rink
The skating rink at Marina Bay Sands is synthetic; this means that you won’t feel so cold (or wet!) if you do take a tumble or two! It is a large skating rink where you can enjoy classes or public skating sessions. Located close to The Shoppes, you can enjoy a spot of shopping if you lose your excitement for skating. There is also a big food court with plenty of tasty options to choose between if you get a bit hungry.
Have fun in Singapore and spend a few hours ice skating!
